DNS Propagation

Check DNS propagation

Check whether a DNS record change is already visible in public resolvers.

Domain name only — no https://, path or port.

Try:
The test asks public resolvers for one record. It does not fetch any website content.
01 / RESOLVERS

Five public resolvers

Google, Cloudflare, AdGuard, NextDNS and DNS.SB. Each answers independently and may have different cache contents.

02 / COMPARISON

Do the answers match?

We compare record sets between resolvers. A resolver with a different result than the majority is flagged.

03 / TTL

How much longer?

You will see the TTL remaining in each resolver’s cache. When it expires, the resolver fetches the new record.

Good to know

What is DNS propagation?

It is the time until a DNS record change is visible to everyone. Resolvers keep the old answer until the TTL expires, so a change can show up after minutes or sometimes only after many hours.

Why do resolvers show different results?

Each resolver has its own cache and refreshes the record at a different time. A difference usually means propagation is still in progress.

Where does the test run from?

From HOSTEDBY.PL infrastructure, through the public DoH interfaces of the listed resolvers. The result reflects the moment of the check. The tool does not store reports.

Why does the result differ from my dig?

Some domains (e.g. google.com or sites behind a CDN) return different addresses depending on where the query comes from. The test runs from a HOSTEDBY.PL server, so you see the answer for its location, and your computer may get different addresses.
